Lavender HarvestAs we were planning this journey to expand our spice palates, it occurred to us that we needed to include HERBS in the conversation as a separate entity.  Because they are, well, different, correct?  Herbs, in both fresh & dried forms, add complexity and tastes apart  from ‘spices’…. Join us on Saturday July 20th from 11am to 1pm for a visit to Hollie’s Homegrown, an organic and incredibly diverse herb farm in Moraga.  Hollie… Continue reading

Apricots! Learn to Preserve the Bounty!

Gatherings take place on Sunday, April 28th – specific locations, timing and themes are listed below with links to the appropriate signups.  Pick whichever one appeals and reserve your place ASAP – they’re quite limited at some of the spots.

Save Berkeley Public Schools’ Garden & Cooking Programs!

Funds for Berkeley schools’ food and nutrition programs are being cut, and concerned parties from the community and school district are banding together to try to find a long-term solution to the funding issue.

Come out to the Longfellow Middle School on Thursday April 11th from 7-8:30pm to hear more about what’s happening and help brainstorm potential strategies for moving forward.

This is a valuable and nationally recognized program — let’s keep it that way!
