March 26, 2023: Annual Community Gathering
Thank you to everyone who joined us for a gathering of the Slow Food East Bay community!
When: Sunday March 26th 3:30-6:30pm
Where: Hammerling Wines 1450 5th Street Berkeley between Gilman and Camelia
Guests arrived with a Good Clean and Fair potluck dish (or something from the farmers market or your local favorite bakery) to share, enjoyed a glass of Hammerling Wine's Sparkling Pinot Noir or Navarro’s Pinot Noir Grape Juice, and settled in for an afternoon of Slow Food news.
We shared what we've accomplished in the last few bumpy years and discussed how we're planning for some delicious and important work in 2023. There were opportunities to learn about volunteering and other ways to support us, and attendees got to meet our entire volunteer leadership team.
We also asked for everyone’s input! Guests shared who we should champion, what organizations and businesses we should partner with, and what topics we should have on our radar. Plus, we gathered ideas on the best ways to engage community in Slow Food projects and campaigns.
The $5 reservation fee will was donated to a local organization working on climate change and agriculture. We are grateful to those who sent their fees via Venmo (@slowfoodeastbay) or Paypal (slowfoodeastbay@gmail.com), helping us to minimize Eventbrite fees. (We always encourage those for whom reservation fees may be a barrier to email us — we want to be sure everyone has a seat at the table.)
