August 10: SFEB Potluck with Mariquita Farm

Join us for an evening of community connection and conversation over a shared potluck meal with special guests Andy and Starr from Mariquita Farm! Summer bounty is upon us, and what better way to celebrate the harvest than by featuring the people behind our produce: farmers! Andy is a local grower in Watsonville, CA, specializing in a variety of vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers. A long-time friend of Slow Food, he also contributed produce to our Bean Feed last November, and he'll be bringing some fresh goodies for sale to this potluck, too!

Mariquita Farm, like many small CA farms, proudly offers an abundance of delicious tomatoes this time of year, so our food theme for this potluck is red shiny tomato delight! In sauces, salads, and maybe even dessert, please get inspired by this scrumptious summer nightshade as you prepare your potluck contribution.

Please invite friends who may have never heard of Slow Food before, we'd love to meet them!

Confirmations will be sent out five days before the gathering and more details about location and dish preparations will be included. Full potluck guidelines here.

NOTE: We will be outdoors, so please plan for the normal evening Bay area temps.

If you need to cancel, please do so at least 36 hours in advance of the gathering so we have time to find someone to take your place. This is a small event (20 people!) with limited seats, so every single one of you counts! (Of course, if you have an exposure to Covid or aren't feeling well, last minute cancellations are absolutely appropriate.)
