October 12: SFEB Potluck with Yolanda Burrell of Pollinate and Sonia Pang of Marina Gardens

In order to get us ready to celebrate Slow Food USA’s Chicory Week and Collards Week in October, we’re highlighting leafy (and in particular hardy!) greens for this month’s potluck. Whether fresh in a salad, braised, or sauteed, please join us in celebrating the underrated diversity of greens! This year’s Plant a Seed kit also features leafy varietals that are best in a cooler climate, so it’s not too late to start your own edible garden.

Join us for an evening of community connection and conversation over a shared potluck meal with special guests Yolanda Burrell, founder of Pollinate Farm and Garden and Sonia Pang of Marina Gardens.  Sonia & Yolanda will share their experiences growing greens and we can all exchange hints and tips and best practices.

Please invite friends who may have never heard of Slow Food before, we'd love to meet them!

Confirmations will be sent out four days before the gathering and more details about location and dish preparations will be included. Full potluck guidelines here.

If you need to cancel, please do so at least 36 hours in advance of the gathering so we have time to find someone to take your place. This is a small event (20 people!) with limited seats, so every single one of you counts! (Of course, if you have an exposure to Covid or aren't feeling well, last minute cancellations are absolutely appropriate.)

NOTE: We will be outdoors, so please plan for the normal evening Bay area temps.
