Sign up for your free spots here

Date: May 9, 2024

Time: 6:00 - 8:00pm

Location: West Berkeley backyard (address to be shared upon RSVP)

In honor of Slow Food East Bay kicking off a year of deep diving into fish, fisheries and the ocean ecosystem, join us for our May potluck to celebrate seafood, seaweed, salt, and the other bounties of the ocean!

Our theme is “From The Sea” - however you might define that. Sea vegetables? Tinned mussels? Fish cakes? Or perhaps you lean toward land-based foods in a mermaid-inspired fashion. This potluck is an opportunity to think about our local food system from an oceans perspective, and get excited about upcoming Slow Food East Bay events that will further this conversation.

We’ll be joined by Adam Sewall and Eleza Jaeger of Gatherer Outfitters, a charter fishing company based out of the Berkeley Marina. They’ll share their work commercial fishing as well as taking folks out to catch their own dinner. And perhaps we’ll get a chance to ask about their response to school shut downs in the depth of Covid.

Please invite friends who may have never heard of Slow Food before, we'd love to meet them!

Confirmations will be sent out three days before the gathering and more details about location and dish preparations will be included. Please take a moment to read the full potluck guidelines here
